What a Discord bio template is, and where it goes

A Discord bio is the About Me section of your profile: up to 190 characters, shown on your profile card in every server and DM, under your display name and pronouns. A template is a pattern for those 190 characters, a headline, a line about you, pronouns and timezone, what you play or make, and a closing line, with a font and a symbol on each line so it reads as a card rather than a sentence. The templates on the ranking pages are fixed text with someone else’s name and games in them; the twelve here are patterns you fill in, and every one updates as you type.

The styling is Unicode, not Discord formatting. Discord’s About Me does accept Markdown (**bold**, *italic*, __underline__, ~~strikethrough~~, `code` and ||spoilers||), but Markdown cannot give you script, Fraktur, small capitals or monospace letters, and it cannot be copied into a display name or a server nickname; the styled letters here can, because they are ordinary characters. Custom server emoji in the About Me need Nitro; the symbols and kaomoji the layouts use do not, since they are text. Timezone and pronouns have their own fields in newer Discord profiles, but people still put them in the bio so they show on the card in every client.

Discord bio ideas by style: aesthetic, cute, dark, gaming, tech, simple

The twelve layouts below are filled with a neutral sample so the shape is visible before you type. Aesthetic uses script names, star brackets and a sparkle or wave divider. Cute uses bows, hearts and a kaomoji on every line. Dark and emo uses Fraktur, crosses and a heavy rule, or monospace in brackets. Gaming uses squared or monospace letters with a controller, a trophy and a schedule line. Tech is a terminal prompt or a builder’s toolkit. Simple is a bold or small-caps name and plain lines, for a profile that reads fast in a busy server.

Two things make a bio work on Discord specifically. The About Me is drawn small on the profile card, so one styled line, the headline, is enough and five styled lines are hard to read; every layout here keeps most lines plain. And the card is seen mostly by strangers in servers, so the useful lines are the ones a stranger needs: your timezone before they DM you, what you play before they invite you, and whether your DMs are open. The count under the preview is the 190-character About Me limit; the display name has its own limit of 32 and takes the same styled text.

How do I put a bio template in my Discord About Me?

Do fancy fonts work in a Discord bio?

Can I use custom emoji or a link in my Discord bio?
