Discord fonts: where each one works
Discord has two kinds of name and they behave differently. The username, the @handle you log in with, accepts only lowercase letters, digits, underscores and periods since the 2023 change, so no styled text goes there and no generator can change that. The display name is free text, and so is a server nickname, which is set per server and is what most people mean by a Discord nickname font. Paste the styled text into either of those, and it shows everywhere the name appears: the member list, messages, voice channels, mentions.
Messages, your custom status, the About Me section, server names and role names all accept Unicode as well. Channel names are the odd case: Discord lowercases them and turns spaces into dashes, but the Unicode letters these fonts use have no lowercase form, so they pass through untouched, which is how servers get 𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗱 or 𝓈𝒸𝓇𝒾𝓅𝓉 channel names. Server tags, the short badge next to a name, are limited to four characters and accept Unicode within that.
All 32 styles render in messages on desktop, web and mobile, because they draw from the same system fonts every device ships. The combining-mark modifiers, underline and strikethrough, render too but stack tall, and a line of them can overlap the line above. Keep those for a word, not a paragraph.

Discord fonts command: markdown versus Unicode
Discord’s own formatting is markdown, and it is what people find when they search for a discord fonts command: two asterisks for **bold**, one for *italic*, two underscores for __underline__, two tildes for ~~strikethrough~~, backticks for `code`, and a line starting with # for a heading. It works in messages and nowhere else. A display name, a nickname, a status, a channel name or a server name written with asterisks shows the asterisks.
That is the gap this Discord font generator fills. The styled letters are characters, not formatting, so they survive in every field, and they survive being copied out of Discord into anything else. The trade is that markdown reflows with Discord’s typeface, gg sans, while Unicode fonts look the way the reader’s system font draws them; on a very old device, a few styles can show as boxes. Colour is neither: coloured text in Discord comes from role colours and from ANSI code blocks in messages, not from characters.
Discord name fonts that stay readable
A name is read hundreds of times in a member list at small size, and some styles hold up better than others. Bold Sans and Bold Serif are the safe choices: heavier than the default, legible at 12 pixels, and they sort correctly. Small Capitals and Monospace read clearly and stand out without shouting. Cursive Script and Fraktur look striking in a message and become hard to read in a member list, especially the Fraktur I and J, which are nearly identical. Fullwidth letters take twice the space and truncate sooner; Discord display names stop at 32 characters, and a styled letter may count as more than one against that limit, so check the preview.

Discord fonts questions
Can you change Discord fonts?
Not the app’s font, which is gg sans on every platform, and not with a setting or a bot. What you can change is the characters: this generator swaps each letter for a Unicode look-alike that is drawn in a different style, and Discord shows it like any other text. Nitro is not needed.
Do Discord fonts work in usernames?
No. The username, the @handle, accepts only lowercase a–z, 0–9, underscore and period. Styled text works in the display name, in server nicknames, in messages, in your status, in About Me, in server names and in role names.
Why is my Discord font not working?
Three usual causes. You pasted it into the username field, which rejects it. The other person’s device is old enough to lack the glyphs, and shows boxes. Or you used markdown symbols in a name, which only work in messages. Paste the styled text from this page into the display name instead.
Do Discord fonts work in channel names?
Yes. Discord lowercases channel names and replaces spaces with dashes, but the letters these fonts use have no lowercase form in Unicode, so they stay as pasted. Bold Sans and Small Capitals are the ones most servers use.
Are these fonts allowed on Discord?
They are ordinary Unicode characters, the same ones your keyboard can type in other languages, and Discord accepts them everywhere it accepts text. Individual servers can have their own rules about names; a moderator can ask you to change one, but the characters themselves break no Discord rule.
Can I add symbols or emoji to a Discord font?
Yes. Symbols and emoji are not converted, so type them in the box where you want them and they stay in place beside the styled letters. Copy the whole line together.
