Privacy policy

This site does not collect personal data. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, has no accounts and no contact forms, and never sends the text you type to a server. There is nothing for us to sell, share or lose, because there is nothing collected in the first place.

The longer version below exists because "we do not collect data" is a claim worth breaking down, particularly the parts we do not control: the company that serves the pages, and your own browser.

Two features remember something between visits, and both use your browser’s local storage, which is data kept on your own device and sent nowhere. The generator remembers the styles you mark as favourites. The library page keeps the text snippets you save to it. That is the entire list.

This is not a cookie and it is not shared with anyone. You can clear it at any time: use your browser’s "clear site data" for this domain, or the browsing-data settings in its privacy section. Clearing it removes your favourites and saved snippets, and nothing else changes.

No cookies are set by this site. If you inspect your cookie jar after visiting, any entry for this domain did not come from these pages.

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the requests your browser makes in order to answer them, which technically involves your IP address, the page requested, the time, and the user agent your browser sends. This is ordinary server operation rather than analytics we have set up: we do not run reports on it, we cannot connect it to a person, and we do not receive a copy of it as a data set. Cloudflare also operates the network-level security that protects the site from attacks, which is why a request reaches them at all.

If you want to know what Cloudflare retains and for how long, their own privacy documentation is the authoritative source; we are describing their role here, not speaking for them.

This site is operated from the United States, so the state privacy laws apply to it: California’s CCPA as amended by the CPRA, and the comparable laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and the other states that have followed them. Their requirements are built around personal information a business collects. This site collects none, which makes most of the obligations empty rather than met by effort.

Specifically: we do not collect personal information, so there is no category of it to disclose, no business or commercial purpose for collecting it, and no third party it is disclosed to. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, in the sense those terms are defined in the CPRA; there is no advertising on this site and no advertising network attached to it. That is also why you will not find a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the footer: the link exists to switch something off, and there is nothing running to switch off.

We do not collect sensitive personal information, we do not use or disclose it, and we do not profile anyone or make automated decisions about them. Because nothing is collected, a Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser has nothing to act on here; it costs you nothing to send one and it changes nothing about how these pages behave.

If you exercise a right to know, delete or correct, the honest answer will be that we hold nothing about you. We will not ask you to create an account or verify your identity in order to be told that.

If the site ever adds analytics, advertising, an account system or anything else that touches personal data, this page will be updated in the same change that adds it, and the date below will move. A policy that promises to notify you but is edited quietly is worth nothing; the honest commitment is that the page and the code stay in step.
